Terms and Conditions

3.1 Recruitment Services

We provide maritime recruitment services connecting qualified seafarers with vessel operators, particularly in the offshore renewable energy sector. Our services include candidate vetting, skills assessment, and placement coordination.

3.2 No Employment Relationship

ReCrewables acts as an intermediary recruitment service. We do not employ crew members directly. Employment contracts are between candidates and the hiring vessel operators or manning agencies.

3.3 The ReCrewables Portal

If you are a Portal member or applicant:

• Membership is by invitation only and subject to our vetting and approval. We may decline an application without giving a reason.
• Once approved, the Portal automatically scores you against Operators' job requirements. Operators can see your profile card (name, rank, years of experience, nationality and bio) in job matches and when searching the crew pool. An Operator decides who receives an offer.
• You are treated as available unless you mark dates as unavailable in your availability calendar.
• You can accept, counter or decline any offer. Nothing is agreed until you accept.
• When you accept an offer, the certificates and documents the job requires are released to that Operator, who can download copies so they can engage you.
• You must keep your certificates, including your medical certificate, valid and up to date on the Portal, and keep your availability accurate.
• Members may invite other seafarers. Only invite people you know and who are happy to be contacted by us.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.

3.4 Operators Using the Portal

If you use the Portal as an Operator, or as a member of an Operator's staff:

• Access is by invitation and subject to our approval. You are responsible for the staff accounts linked to your company and for keeping their login details secure.
• You may use seafarers' profile cards only to find and make offers for genuine roles. You must not copy, export or compile the crew pool, or contact members for any other purpose.
• Certificates and documents released to you after a seafarer accepts your offer may be used only to assess and engage that seafarer for that role. Keep them secure and confidential, and do not share them with anyone else except as the law requires.
• You must delete any documents you have downloaded if the role is not filled, and when the engagement ends, unless the law requires you to keep them for longer.
• For documents you download, you are an independent controller under data protection law and are responsible for your own compliance, including for health information such as medical certificates.
• We may suspend or withdraw your access if you breach these Terms.

4.1 Accurate Information

You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information about your qualifications, experience, and personal details. Any misrepresentation may result in immediate termination of our services.

4.2 Valid Certifications

You warrant that all maritime certificates, licenses, and qualifications provided are valid, current, and authentic. You must notify us immediately of any changes to certification status.

4.3 Availability and Communication

You agree to maintain reasonable availability for communication regarding potential opportunities and to respond promptly to placement enquiries within agreed timeframes.

5.1 Professional Service

We will use reasonable efforts to match qualified candidates with suitable positions, conducting professional vetting and maintaining industry standards.

5.2 No Guarantee of Placement

Registration with ReCrewables does not guarantee job placement. Market conditions, qualification requirements, and client preferences affect placement opportunities.

5.3 Due Diligence

While we conduct reasonable vetting of clients and opportunities, candidates remain responsible for their own due diligence regarding potential employers and contract terms.

6.1 Personal Data Processing

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the lawful basis for each use.

6.2 Data Sharing

On the Portal, Operators can see your profile card, and your certificates and documents are shared with an Operator only after you accept their offer (see section 3.3). Outside the Portal, we share your details with a potential employer only with your agreement. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

6.3 Retention Period

We retain personal data for the periods set out in our Privacy Policy.

8.1 Service Limitations

Our liability is limited to providing recruitment intermediary services. We are not responsible for employment terms, working conditions, or disputes between candidates and employers.

8.2 Financial Limitation

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed £1,000 or the fees paid by you (whichever is greater) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8.3 Exclusions

We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, or business interruption, except where prohibited by law.

9.1 Termination by Candidate

You may terminate your registration at any time by contacting us in writing. We will cease active recruitment efforts and handle your data according to our Privacy Policy.

9.2 Termination by ReCrewables

We may terminate our services immediately for breach of these Terms, provision of false information, or conduct that damages our reputation or business relationships.
